Speeding on White Hills Run

Hi everyone,

We have been in contact with the RCMP concerning speeding issues on White Hills Run. While this is not something we can eliminate altogether, we are making efforts to raise awareness among residents and visitors alike. To this end, a speed radar trailer will be located on White Hills Run so that drivers can see how fast they are going and perhaps encourage more compliance with the speed limit.

Has anyone thought about or proposed putting some stop signs up on whitehills (3way or 4 way stops) at some of the intersections. ?

I'm not sure that will work. Then people will just speed to get to the next stop sign. The problem is not that people don't know what the limit is, it's that they don't care. We need more RCMP radar checks to actually catch people (like the one they had set up today). Once people start getting tickets then maybe they will care. Until then the chances of being caught for speeding on WHR is extremely low, and people realize that.

I know of a few people that have been stopped for speeding. It's easy to see who they are, as whenever you see them driving they are doing the limit, and they always have a long line of cars following them :-)

I have a bit of a complaint about the whole speeding issue....... A neighbour of ours actually had a vist from the RCMP saying that someone called them complaining about him speeding that day... the neighbour said he wasn't speeding, but that this person cut him off and he thought it was a police officer in plain clothes and he was the one that called the police when he was the one who was in the wrong (don't know, wasn't there). The RCMP SHOULD NOT be visiting a house if they haven't themselves caught someone speeding, That being said, I drive the speed limit in White Hills (and no I haven't been caught) and there is always someone tail gating me so badly that I am afriad to hit my breaks because they would crash into me. I drive with my son in the car.................. It's not only the speeding that's the issue, but the poor and reckless driving behaviour as a whole...... I'll get off my soapbox now......
